MARCUS I. VEJAR: Marcus’ law practice focuses on the following areas:
Family Law: Dissolution of marriage, legal separation, complex asset divorce, enforcement of judgments, contested custody cases, third party custody and visitation matters, uncontested divorce, spousal support modification, custody modification, child support, collaborative divorce matters, enforcement of parenting time and family law contempt matters.
Contested Restraining Orders and Stalking Orders: Representing clients at contested hearings.
Unbundled Legal Services: Assisting pro se litigants by drafting documents such as responses, petitions, judgments, temporary support pleadings, motions to show cause and other family law and divorce related pleadings. Providing legal advice and assistance with trial preparation, informal domestic relations trials and family law case strategy.
Marcus is originally from Southern California, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Riverside in Political Science, with an emphasis in Law and Society. Wanting to live in the Pacific Northwest, Marcus attended law school at the University of Oregon’s School of Law and has worked to become actively involved in the local community. During law school, Marcus competed in litigation-based competitions, representing the law school around the country. Marcus was president of the University’s local chapter of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, a group that advocates for animal rights through the law. Marcus has continued to focus on the local community by acting as the Mock Trial Coach for South Eugene High School and Assistant Coach for the University of Oregon Law School’s Mock Trial team. Marcus’ involvement in these activities reflects his comfort in the courtroom.
Marcus began his legal career working in law school as a law clerk at Gomez & Simone in the areas of landlord/tenant and real estate litigation. Marcus recently clerked for the Office of Lane County Counsel, primarily in the area of civil litigation. Marcus joined the law firm of Diment & Walker to focus his practice on family law.
